Cyberspace, water defence systems, chemical industrial clusters and energy networks are large, crucial, complex and interrelated systems. If anything goes wrong at any point in such a system, whether through a deliberate act or not, this can lead to major consequences.
The Centre for Safety and Security focuses on mapping out the risks to which these infrastructures are exposed. This work involves close cooperation between computer model designers, hydraulic engineers, terrorism experts, lawyers, public administrators, and ethicists.
