Technology-Enhanced-Learning (TEL) is commonly defined as integrating information and communication technologies for teaching and learning. However, what essentially constitutes TEL? What is “enhanced”? TEL connotes value judgement (Kirkwood & Linda, 2014). Hence, it is important for practitioners to ask, what value is being added to learners’ experiences in the integration of TEL teaching methods/ tools.
And if TEL is a tool for pedagogical innovation, how can we move from merely replicating and supplementing existing teaching practices to transforming learning experiences? The half-day event looks at how we can contextualize TEL methods and TEL tools in different HE learning scenarios to add value to the learning processes. The event kicks off with a plenary session on TEL tools and best practices in different HE learning settings. Next, participants will engage in parallel interactive workshops on concrete applications of TEL tools in these learning settings.
