The bachelor Nanobiology is a joint programme of the Delft University of Technology and the Erasmus University Medical Centre (Erasmus University Rotterdam).
The Nanobiology BSc program provides a comprehensive interdisciplinary education that integrates biology, physics, and mathematics. It equips students with the knowledge and skills to investigate biological systems using molecular biology, mathematical frameworks, physical principles, advanced computational techniques, and specialized imaging technologies, which enable students to gain deeper insights into complex biological processes. This joint-degree program is offered by TU Delft (penvoerder) and Erasmus University Rotterdam.
At TU Delft, the program is embedded within the Faculty of Applied Sciences. Most teachers are faculty members of the Department of Bionanoscience, with additional contributions from the Department of Imaging Physics, as well as DIAM and Bioinformatics, both of which are part of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, and Computer Science.
At Erasmus University Rotterdam, the program is embedded in the Faculty of Medicine and Health (Faculteit Geneeskunde en Gezondheid) at Erasmus Medical Center (Erasmus MC). Most teachers are affiliated with the Biomedical Sciences Theme (departments of Molecular Genetics, Neuroscience and Developmental Biology), supplemented by faculty from various other departments.
