Last December, the board of Leiden-Delft-Erasmus Universities, consisting of the members of the Executive Boards of the three universities, set up the Leiden-Delft-Erasmus Research Development Support.
The aim is to provide additional support for the formation of consortia with the participation of researchers from the three universities for the development of innovative, interdisciplinary research programs. The Leiden-Delft-Erasmus Research Development Support offers researchers from the three universities the opportunity to develop new interdisciplinary partnerships bottom-up.
It concerns seed money, whereby the initiative rests entirely with the researchers of the three universities.
Prof. Dr Wim van den Doel, Dean of Leiden-Delft-Erasmus Universities, explains the types of projects involved: 'This concerns seed money, whereby the initiative rests entirely with the researchers of the three universities. I hope that new and surprising partnerships can therefore emerge'.
Guidance from the Research Development Offices
LDE Research Development Support provides not only a financial contribution, but also additional guidance from the Research Development Offices of the three universities. The director of Erasmus Research Services, Margo Strijbosch, is very pleased with the arrival of LDE Research Development Support: 'It fits well with the university's ambition to work more strategically and to focus our support more on large-scale initiatives'.
Applications for the Leiden-Delft-Erasmus Research Development Support can still be submitted. Van den Doel cordially invites all researchers to this effect: 'I have already mentioned it before and will mention it again in our upcoming LDE Talks: the counter is open! I am very curious about the proposals that we will receive'.
