5 Nov 2019
The Dutch Digital Government initiative, established by the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, has published a collection of essays on appropriate data use in the public space. The collection contains six themed essays and proposals for policy measures and activities related to the use of data in public space, two of which were written by BOLD Cities affiliates. Three other affiliated researchers wrote the epilogue to the collection.
Professor Gerd Kortuem (Delft University of Technology) wrote a chapter on public governance of experimental data and algorithms. Professor Liesbet van Zoonen and Jiska Engelbert (Erasmus University) shared their vision on the need for a digital environmental strategy. The epilogue, focusing on policy challenges relating to data use, was written by Sarah Giest, Bram Klievink and Bernard Steunenberg (Leiden University). The essay collection is available on the Digital Government website in English and in Dutch.
